We spend so much of our lives waiting for the big things.
The grand celebration.
The elaborate surprise.
The long-awaited trip.
The big gesture that makes us feel loved.
As if life will finally begin when something extraordinary happens.
But perhaps life has been happening all along.
In the little gaps between one thing and another.
In someone remembering how you take your tea.
In a friend saving you the last piece because they know you like it.
In someone remembering a tiny detail you mentioned months ago.
Your favourite colour.
The thing you dislike.
The way you like your coffee.
The song you always skip.
In that message that arrives at exactly 12:00 because someone remembered the date, and remembered that it mattered to you.
In a little help offered before you even ask for it.
In someone noticing that you’re quieter than usual.
In a “reached?” text.
A “have you eaten?”
A “I saw this and thought of you.”
Nothing extraordinary.
And yet, somehow, everything.
Maybe we have been looking for love in grand gestures when it has been quietly sitting inside these little acts of remembering.
Because sometimes, being loved isn’t about someone doing something huge for you.
Sometimes, it is simply the comfort of knowing;
Someone notices;
Someone remembers;
Someone pays attention.
And perhaps that is where life really waits for us:
not in the grand moments we keep chasing,
but in those tiny, almost invisible moments
we are too busy rushing past to notice.
IF THIS RESONATED WITH YOU…
